Mission
The National Sarcoidosis Society provides information and assistance to patients and professionals
on a wide range of health-related educational issues that will result in enhanced methods of diagnosis and treatment of this
disease and to improve the overall health of individuals, families, and communities throughout the United States. Engage in research initiatives that will result in a cure
for the debilitating disease, Sarcoidosis.
Purpose
The NSS was created to empower, educate, share knowledge, experience, strengths and hopes for peoples
who are survivors of the Sarcoidosis disease. Also to solicit the support of
all people for lobbying with government agencies; to communicate and network
with other Sarcoidosis Groups, health care providers, and the general public in becoming knowledgeable of this disease by distributing flyers, brochures, newsletters, press releases
and other printed material.
Vision
The National Sarcoidosis
Society is recognized and respected worldwide as an innovative and effective humanitarian organization committed to the following
areas of health and well-being—research into the causes, detection and cure of Sarcoidosis; education of professionals,
patients, and the general public regarding Sarcoidosis. Sarcoidosis patients
look to NSS as their primary source of information ,support and advocacy. NSS
serves a diverse group of people who share the common goal of understanding and overcoming this complex disease.
Objective
NSS seeks to collaborate
with research institutions to increase the volume and enhance the quality of research initiatives in the area of Sarcoidosis. As well as to increase public awareness of Sarcoidosis; and to educate patients, patients support network, and medical professionals of Sarcoidosis. NSS‘s objective also encourages support groups to start up a Sarcoidosis Chapter.
